NihontoWatchGinza Choshuya 東京都中央区銀座3-10-4 月–土 9:30–17:30 和平(かずひら)師は昭和十八年横浜市六浦の産。昭和三十六年九月に宮入昭平師に入門し、昭和四十二年に独立。山城国の来国俊や備前一文字吉房、助真等の古名刀を目標に作刀に邁進。昭和四十八年に再起。平成七年以降は新作名刀展の特賞を連続受賞し、平成十二年に無鑑査に認定された。その後も地鉄の鍛法、焼入の研究を深め、映りや地沸、地景等の景色が自ずから「出る」境地を目指し成果を上げた。

Shōwa to the present: destruction and revival
The twentieth century nearly killed the craft twice: wartime distortion, then the occupation ban. The NBTHK’s founding in 1948 and licensed forging from 1953 rebuilt the sword as an art, crowned by Living National Treasures and the mukansa rank.
