NihontoWatchNihontoWatchGinza Choshuya 東京都中央区銀座3-10-4 月–土 9:30–17:30 雙竜軒の号を持つ関義則は龍を彫るのを得意としたがそれだけではない幅広い作域を持った巧者である。黒々として靭性を感じさせる地鉄は鍛え良く、耳際に深く打ち込まれた槌目やうっすらと浮かび上がる網代文による独特の地造りが埋忠の古作を狙って製作したであろうことを物語っている。薄く彫り出された菊と桐は焼手により更に柔らか味を増し、角度を変えて眺めると図像がくっきりと浮かび上がり金布目象嵌が煌めく。寛政十二年(1800年)陸奥国伊達郡川又村飯坂に生まれた義則は十八歳で四国、肥後、長崎に遊学。帰郷して後、二十一歳で両親を亡くすと江戸に出て、陸奥国仙台出身で肥後細川家の抱え工熊谷義之に師事。意味深遠で趣の深い独自の作風を模索し創り上げた。

The NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai, the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords) is a public-interest incorporated foundation founded in 1948 and supervised by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunkachō); it is based at the Japanese Sword Museum in Tokyo. Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
