The lineage consists of the first generation Kanemichi, the second generation Kanemichi (who changed his name to Kanetoki), the third generation Kanemichi, and the fourth generation Kanetoki, representing a prestigious family of Seki swordsmiths. Succeeding the will of his ancestors, he strives for the tradition of the Mino-den and conveys those techniques to the present day. This work has a nagasa of 2 shaku 4 sun 5 bu. The moto-haba and kasane are solid, and the sori is appropriate. It is a sword with a beautiful style that leaves nothing to be desired. The jigane is a strongly clear and bright steel with itame hada that has a flowing tendency and jinie. The hamon is gunome mixed with pointed ha. The nioikuchi is bright with plenty of konie, showing an excellent finish. The boshi continues as midare and returns to komaru. A dignified mei is carved into the nakago. This sword, with both its ji and ha being clear and showing excellent workmanship, is a truly well-formed and magnificent sword by the Seki master Kanetoki. The weight is also very appropriate at 949 grams excluding the saya, with good balance in the hand, allowing it to be enjoyed both for art appreciation and as a sword for martial arts use in iai.
