Weight (toushin only): 568g It has arrived! A meitou by Mutsu no Kami Toshinaga of Yamashiro Kyo, who is claimed to be a descendant of the famous Heshekiri Hasebe (well-known from Touken Ranbu), has appeared. Originally from Awa Tokushima, three brothers migrated to the land of Kyo Yamashiro. The eldest son received the title Yamashiro no Kami Toshinaga, the second son is the smith of this sword, Mutsu no Kami Toshinaga, and the third son is Musashi no Kami Toshinaga. This sword is by the second son, Mutsu no Kami Toshinaga (Futamura Yasazaemon). He later crafted swords in Osaka and Ise as well. This sword was made during the Kanbun era of the Edo period (circa 1661, 365 years ago). Regarding the sugata, it was originally a katana of 2 shaku 3 sun, but a samurai of a later generation, determined to make it his own sashiryo, shortened it to match his own kenpo. It displays an elegant and fine sugata with a distinct difference between the motohaba and sakihaba and a graceful sori. The jigane is a tightly forged, bright ko-itame hada. The hamon is a nioi-deki with ko-nie, fired skillfully and consistently from the moto to the saki in a suguha style. This sword has been cherished by an old family for generations, but as they have grown old, they have entrusted it to us with the request to pass it on cheaply to someone who will treasure it. Therefore, we are offering it at a special bargain price. Please enjoy this meitou by Mutsu no Kami Toshinaga, a descendant of the Heshekiri Hasebe lineage popular in Touken Ranbu.
