Description

This Edo period iron tsuba features a Natsu-zuta (Japanese creeper) motif in a yotsu-mokkō shape. The design combines sukashi (openwork) with fine carving and ukibori (shallow raised relief) to create a lively, textured surface. It is signed by Myōchin Munekatsu, a maker from the Myōchin school known for their advanced ironworking skills.
