This is an important Ko Goto kozuka from the Muromachi period, circa 1500, attributed to the time of Yujo or Sojo. The theme features Japanese Poppy flowers, symbolizing anticipation and the fleeting nature of beauty. The nanako surface is significantly worn, indicating its age, with only the edge of the uttori remaining. It comes with an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificate and a fitted kiri-bako.
