The Shimizu, or Jingo, line is one of the four great Higo schools, founded by Shimizu Jingo. In contrast to the delicacy of other Higo makers, Jingo tsuba are robust and powerful — heavy iron with bold sukashi, gold nunome, and a distinctly muscular character. They are highly prized within the Higo tradition.
