This is an unsigned iron tsuba from the Shonai school, featuring a dynamic design of plovers flying over swirling waves. Crafted during the mid to late Edo period, it showcases the Shonai tradition of combining various metalworking techniques like sukidashi-bori and gold/silver iroe on iron and shakudo. The piece is accompanied by an NBTHK Hozon Tosogu certificate.
