Description

This is a rare kogatana with a nanban kozuka, a "Southern barbarian small knife handle". The handle is made of shibuichi, a copper-silver alloy, and features a pierced iron panel with a dragon chasing the sacred jewel. It is likely made by a Japanese craftsman working in or around Nagasaki in the 18th century.
