This is a katana made by Kaneyoshi, whose real name is Masayasu Sō, born in 1954. He is the son and disciple of the Mukansa swordsmith Sō Tsutomu, residing in Sannō, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. Kaneyoshi is famous for creating the 'Sasatsuyu' (Dewdrop on Bamboo Grass) and has received numerous awards. The blade comes with a black lacquered uchigatana koshirae and is suitable for iai and tameshigiri.
