Description

Bizen smiths have been famous since the Heian period, starting with Bizen Tomonari and other Ko-Bizen tosno, alongside Sanjo Munechika and Hoki Yasutsuna. According to the meikan, this Masamune was a Ko-Bizen ha tosho from around the Juei era (1232) of the mid-Kamakura period (784 years ago). The sugata of this tachi features a wide moto-mihaba with funbari at the moto and a deep koshi-zori, displaying a magnificent Kamakura period form. The jigane is ko-mokume-hada mixed with o-hada, exhibiting jifu-utsuri. The hamon has a narrow yaki-haba and is nioi-honwi with nie, based in suguha-cho mixed with ko-choji, showing small-patterned hataraki. The boshi is midare-komi in a small pattern. It is truly a Ko-Bizen tachi of the Kamakura period. Zaimei Ko-Bizen tachi are extremely rare, making this tachi a very precious piece. As it is currently in furu-togi, it will be wonderfully reborn with a top-quality polish. It is a meito with the presence of a future Tokubetsu Juyo Token. Please enjoy this tachi by Ko-Bizen Masamune.
