Description

Weight: 1007g (excluding saya) It has arrived, it has arrived! A sword by the swordsmith Kojima Kanenori, bearing the now-precious "Seki" stamp, has appeared. The swordsmith Kanenori, real name Kojima Taro, was the younger brother of the swordsmith Kojima Kanemichi, who was said to be a wonderfully famous and representative head smith of Seki. Born in Meiji 40, he was selected and received the honor of being an Army Appointed Swordsmith (Rikugun Jumei Toko) during World War II. He was a master smith who won numerous awards at the post-war Shinsaku Meito-ten (New Masterpiece Sword Exhibitions). This sword is a carefully crafted piece made during the war by the swordsmith Kojima Kanenori, bearing the Seki stamp. The sugata shows a beautiful sori with a distinct difference between the motohaba and sakihaba. The jigane is forged in ko-itame hada, appearing well-tightened. The horimono consists of bo-hi and soe-hi, skillfully carved. The hamon is a gunome-ba mixed with togari-ba in the style of Seki no Magoroku Kanemoto, forged as a very ambitious blade. The koshirae, a modern and expensive kuro-ro kizami-saya (black wax-lacquer notched scabbard), adds further elegance to this sword. On this occasion, an elderly connoisseur has entrusted this to us, saying, "I have grown old, so please pass this on at a low price to someone who will cherish it." Therefore, we are offering it at a special bargain price. Please enjoy this sword by the Seki master smith Kojima Kanenori.
