【Sword / Katana】 Mei: Mumei (Attributed to Den-Naoe Shizu) Sayagaki: Honami Nisshu (Kao) - "Naoe Shizu, Nagasa 2-shaku 3-sun 3-bu" Certificate: NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token Nagasa: 70.6 cm Sori: 1.6 cm Motohaba: 3.1 cm Sakihaba: 2.2 cm Motokasane: 0.7 cm Sakikasane: 0.5 cm Mekugi-ana: 3 Weight: Approx. 780g (blade only) Shape: Wide Mihaba, thick Kasane, with a standard Sori and an extended Chu-kissaki. A powerful and magnificent Sugata. Kitae: Itame-hada mixed with Mokume, displaying prominent Jinie and Chikei. The Hada is well-defined and robust. Hamon: Based on Notare mixed with Gunome-midare. The Habuchi is thick with Nie, featuring Sunagashi and Kinsuji. The Nioiguchi is bright and clear. Boshi: Midare-komi with a sharp, sweeping Kaeri. Koshirae: Uchigatana Koshirae Tsuba: Round shape, Iron ground, Sukashi carving (Mumei). Fuchi-Kashira: Shakudo Nanako ground, Autumn insects motif, Takabori carving with Gold Iroe. Menuki: Shakudo ground, Dragon motif, Yobori carving. Saya: Black Ishime-ji lacquer finish. Description: This blade is attributed to the Naoe Shizu school, which refers to the smiths who followed Kaneuji (one of the Masamune Jittetsu) when he moved from Shizu in Mino Province to Naoe. This particular work exhibits the characteristic Soshu-den style inherent to Naoe Shizu, featuring a dynamic Hamon with rich Nie and active Sunagashi and Kinsuji. The Jigane is excellent, showing a profound texture.
