Kumazawa Kanetoshi is famous as a master smith who was selected as an exclusive swordsmith for the renowned pre-war Seki Token Co., Ltd. His real name was Murayama Yoshiyuki. Because of the nine-year ban on nihonto production by the GHQ from Showa 20 to Showa 29, he did not return to swordsmithing after the war. Therefore, for Kumazawa Kanetoshi, this sword is a precious piece that proves his legacy as a maker of honorable nihonto. This sword exhibits an elegant sugata with a noticeable difference between the motohaba and sakihaba and a shallow sori. The jigane is a finely packed ko-itame hada, forged brightly in a muji style.
