Description

This is a complete set of Japanese armor (gusoku) featuring a nimai-do (two-piece cuirass) constructed from a mix of iron and leather honkozane (small scales) laced with red thread in a mon-gara odoshi pattern. It includes a 62-plate suji kabuto (helmet) with an iron rust-lacquered finish and a lion maedate (forecrest), as well as an iron rust-lacquered menpo (face mask). This armor dates to the Azuchi-Momoyama period and is considered a valuable historical artifact.
