Description

This is a rare and complete suit of armor featuring a high-quality iron russet 32-plate suji kabuto, an iron russet menpo, and an iron russet mogami-do, all signed by Myochin Munekata. The sode, kote, haidate, and suneate are also made of iron russet, with a unified brown silk lining. The armor includes an original kuwagata maedate with a kurihan-tsuki and a maru ni jujimon crest, the family crest of the Mori clan of Tsuyama Domain, on the fukigaeshi. Iron russet mogami-do gusoku are less common than their black lacquered counterparts, and it is particularly rare to find a signed kabuto, menpo, and do together, making this a highly valuable and cohesive set.
