This is a rare and complete suit of armor, featuring an iron russet 32-plate suji kabuto, an iron russet menpo, and a high-quality iron russet mogami-dou, all signed by "Myochin Munekata". The three auxiliary components (sangu) — shino-kote, mugiwara-shino-haidate, and shino-suneate — are also made of iron russet, unified with a high-grade brown silk lining. The kabuto features a kuwagata maedate with a kurihanazuki motif, and the fukigaeshi are adorned with the 'Maru ni Jujimon' crest of the Mori clan of Tsuyama Domain. Iron russet mogami-dou gusoku are surprisingly rare compared to the more common black lacquered versions, and while signed kabuto are often seen, it is very uncommon to find a suit where the menpo and dou are also signed, making this a highly valuable and cohesive armor set.
