This is a complete set of Japanese armor (gusoku) from the mid-Edo period. It features a two-piece cuirass (nimai-do) laced with moegi-colored silk threads (moegi-ito odoshi) and small individual scales (honkozane). The helmet is a 62-plate suji-bachi kabuto with a russet iron finish, adorned with a wooden, gold-lacquered dragon maedate resembling water buffalo horns.
