This is a tsuba by Kingyokudo Myochin Hirosada, a leading student of Hirotoshi from the Uchikoshi school of Mito Kinko. Dating to the late Edo period (Tenpo-Koka era, 1830-1860), it features a fierce tiger design in high relief on a shibuichi ground, with excellent river carving. It is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu by the NBTHK.
