This is a tsuba by Kingyokudo Myochin Hirosada, a leading disciple of Uchikoshi Hirotoshi from the Mito Kinko school. It features a fierce tiger design in high relief on a shibuichi ground, with excellent river carving. The piece dates to the late Edo period, around the Tenpo-Koka eras (1830-1860 AD).
