Description

This is a powerful wakizashi attributed to Munetada, a disciple of Kurihara Nobuhide. Its construction and style share many similarities with Nobuhide's work, suggesting Munetada's collaboration. The robust construction and fukura-less kissaki, combined with the powerful osoraku-zukuri, showcase the charm of the Yamaura school. It comes with a koshirae made during the late Edo period, contemporary with the blade.
