Description

This is a tachi by Miyagi Akimori, a skilled craftsman from Oshu, made in the Showa era (1980). It is a reproduction of the famous Denta Mitsuyo tachi, beloved by Tokugawa Ieyasu, with a kiritsuke-mei on the tang reading "Sohayanotsurugi Utsusunari." The original is a designated Important Cultural Property housed at Kunozan Toshogu Shrine.
