This is an artistic ubu wakizashi signed with a nagamei, attributed to Yamashiro ??? Kuni ??. It features a hoso suguba, suguba ko-midare in konie deki, with a deep, even, and brilliant habuchi. The jigane is a mixture of itame nagare and masame, with fine jinie and chikei. Mounted in shirasaya with horn trim and a copper habaki, its characteristics suggest the school of Zenjo Kaneyoshi or a similar Kanetsune example, though it has never been to shinsa.
