Description

This katana, forged by Jôshû Kunishige in August 1648, exhibits the distinctive Mishina-school style, influenced by Dewa Daijô Kunimichi. It features a spectacular ô-mokume jihada and an explosive gunome-midare hamon. The blade is certified Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK and comes with a remarkable provenance, having been confiscated by U.S. Forces in 1945 and returned to Japan in 1997, complete with its original koshirae.
