This formidable katana was forged by Fujishima Tomoshige in Edo in June 1864. It is notable for undergoing a rare and demanding cutting test (tameshigiri) in January 1865, where sword tester Yamada Genzô precisely severed a body to 90% through at the collarbone. The blade features a dense muji-hada jihada, gunome-midare hamon with abundant yô, and a shirasaya with a gold-wrapped habaki, accompanied by NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho and Tokubetsu Hozon papers.
