Description

This long, muscular katana is the work of Katsubei, the 6th generation Kunishige of the Ôtsuki branch, who flourished during the Kanbun era (1661-1673). It features bold horimono of a tokkosho and hatahoko, imbuing it with profound Buddhist symbolism. The blade boasts a dazzling gunome-midare hamon with Sôshû-esque nioguchi and a gritty mokume jihada, complemented by a magnificent custom koshirae built around a solar theme.
