Description

This is a hirazukuri wakizashi by Gyokushinsai Masakage, an excellent smith from the late Edo period, working in the Bizen tradition. It features a refined form with koshi-hi and hoso-hi carvings. The jitetsu is ko-itame with bright nie, and the hamon is gunome-choji with bright nie and long ashi.
