Description

This is an unsigned kozuka featuring an interesting design of monkeys and an old tree, crafted from shakudo nanako ground with high relief and iroe (color inlay). The piece is attributed to Ko-Kinko (old metalworkers) due to the nanako wear and stylized design, though the vibrant coloring might suggest a slightly later period. Despite some wear to the iroe, its substantial weight provides a satisfying feel in hand.
