Tracked across 76 dealers worldwide · price history · sold archive
This is a rare Koto katana, possibly from the Nanbokucho period or earlier, featuring a two-body cutting test inscription by Murai Saburōsaemon, highlighted with red lacquer. The blade appears to be a Yamashiro-den work, with an argument for Higo Enju. It has a wet-looking ko-itame jihada and a suguha-based hamon in ko-nie, recently polished by Takeo Seki.
