This is an iron sukashi tsuba signed by Akao Yoshitsugu, from Echizen Province. The tsuba features a chrysanthemum theme and measures 8.1 x 8.2 x 0.4 cm. It is in excellent condition and was previously part of the Holbrook collection, dating to the early 1600s.
