Horikawa Tadakuni忠國
The first generation Shinano Daijo Tadakuni was a swordsmith for the Inaba Tottori domain, whose real name was Hachirodaifu Yamamoto. He trained under Dewa Daijo Kunimichi in Kyoto and later received the title of Shinano Daijo in August of Kan'ei 11. This wakizashi is a masterpiece of wild hamon, featuring a vibrant jihada with rich ji-nie and a bright, active hamon with strong nioi and nie. The tang is signed with Tadakuni's characteristic hawk's feather yasurime.
