This is a katana made by Kotani Yasunori in 1940. Yasunori was a smith at the Yasukuni Shrine forge and this sword is mounted in Type 98 Shin-gunto mounts. The blade has been professionally polished and is in restored condition, but the gunto saya is broken and the tsuka is missing a menuki.
