This listing features a tachi signed Yasunori, dated to an auspicious day in December of Showa 19 (1944). Yasunori (Kotani Yasunori) was born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1909 and joined the Nihonto Tanrenkai at Yasukuni Shrine in 1933, receiving his name from Army Minister Senjuro Hayashi. He is known for forging a tachi dedicated to Atsuta Shrine at the request of Army Minister Hideki Tojo in 1941.
