Yasunori (Kotani Yasunori) was born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1909 and joined the Nihonto Tanrenkai at Yasukuni Shrine in 1933, receiving the name Yasunori from Army Minister Senjuro Hayashi in 1935. He is known for forging a tachi dedicated to Atsuta Shrine at the request of Army Minister Hideki Tojo in 1941.
