This is a tanto made by Echizen Kaneshige of the Echizen Seki school during the Shinto period. The blade is ubu with one mekugi-ana and features a gunome midare hamon with a notarish feel, and an itame mokume hada with chikei and ji-nie. The tanto comes with a nice koshirae with a mon motif fuchi/kashira, floral menuki, and a tsuba with gold dots representing stars.
