This is a contemporary katana made by swordsmith Maezono Yasunori located in Higo, Saga province, and inscribed in October, 1986. The blade features a straight tempered-line pattern and comes in complete ornate mountings including a Tsuba guard designed with gold flowers. The scabbard is beautifully finished with ray-skin wrapping at the bottom.
