This kozuka features an intricate design of an ox-cart procession, a motif symbolizing the elegance of Heian court culture. Crafted from shakudo nanako-ji, the piece depicts courtiers, attendants, and an ox-cart in high relief, with rich gold inlay on figures' attire, the ox, and the cart. The detailed work and contrast between the black nanako ground and the vibrant gold create a captivating and decorative fitting from the early to mid-Edo period.
