This is an O-kogatana (large kogatana) by the renowned smith Yoshihara Kuniie (1945-2023), who was designated an Intangible Cultural Property of Tokyo. The blade features a well-forged ko-itame hada and a vibrant midare hamon with nie and kinsuji. It comes in a shirasaya and is in excellent condition.
