This is a wakizashi by Fujiwara Masatoshi, a smith from Bizen-Okayama active around Manji era (1658-1661) in the early Edo period. It features a rare sun-nobi unokubi-zukuri shape with a nagasa of 39.8cm. The blade has a well-forged jigane with masame mixed in the shinogi-ji, and a hamon of small gunome-midare with fukura-ha and tobiyaki. It comes with a magnificent gold-foiled double habaki with carving, and is accompanied by an NBTHK Hozon Token certificate.
