NihontoWatchNihontoWatchThis is a hirazukuri wakizashi by Masatoshi, a Mino swordsmith from the late Muromachi period (around Tenbun era), known as "Sakaura-Seki" due to his forge in Sakaura. It is considered a Ryō Wazamono (good cutting ability). There is speculation of technical exchange with the Muramasa school, favored by Sengoku warlords, due to regional connections and the similarity of the "Masa" character in their signatures.
