This is a masterpiece katana by Tosa Yoshinari, dating to the early Edo period around the Kyohô era (1716-1736). It exhibits the Osaka Shinto style of his teacher Yoshimichi, with a tight ko-itame hada and a chôji-midare hamon with many activities. The blade is housed in a shirasaya and comes with an attractive koshirae featuring gold-colored dragon motifs, and has been awarded NBTHK Hozon papers.
