This is a tanto by Kanesaki, a swordsmith who moved from Mino to Tsuyama in Mimasaka Province during the early Edo period. He was brought to Tsuyama by Mori Tadamasa, who was granted the domain after the Battle of Sekigahara. The blade is dated August, Keicho 18th year (1613).
