Description

This is a daisho (matching katana and wakizashi) made by Shigehide in the first year of Kaei (1848). Shigehide was a student of Naotane and likely a samurai smith from the Omura domain in Hizen province. The blades feature well-forged itame hada and bright hamon with abundant sunagashi, showcasing the natural beauty of the steel.
