This is a mid-Edo period wakizashi signed Sōshū-jū Masatsugu, attributed to the Edo Hōjōji school in Musashi province. It features a shōbu-zukuri construction with an iori-mune, itame jigane with mokume, and a suguha hamon with kinsuji and inazuma. The blade is in sound condition and housed in a shirasaya.
