This antique Edo period Tsuba features a Ryu Sukashi Zu (dragon openwork design) and was made by the Kinai school, which flourished in Echizen province. It depicts a large cloud dragon, a symbolic beast of auspicious signs and a water god in Japanese culture. The Tsuba comes with an NBTHK Kichou Certificate, issued in 1963.
