This antique Katana is signed by Hizen Jyu Ueno Daijyo Fujiwara Yoshikuni, a smith active in the early Edo period (Kanbun era: 1661-1673) and related to the first-gen Tadayoshi. The blade comes with a full koshirae mounting and shirasaya, and is accompanied by an NBTHK Hozon Certificate. Yoshikuni served the Nabeshima clan in Hizen province, known for producing beautiful Hizen To blades using carbon steel from international trade.
