Description

A kozuka depicting a pastoral scene with a shepherd boy and a grazing ox, crafted from shibuichi migaki-ji with suemon-zogan and iroe. The powerful physique of the ox with gold iroe contrasts with the resting shepherd boy using a net basket as a pillow. Attributed to Yasushige, possibly from the Shonai Kinko school, a branch of the Tsuchiya Yasuchika lineage. Accompanied by an NBTHK Hozon Tosogu certificate issued in 1992.
