This is an unsigned katana attributed to the Shin-Shinto Kaifu school, active in Awa province during the late Edo period. It features a straight hamon (suguha) and a mixed grain pattern (itame-masame) with some mokume. The blade is notably robust with a motohaba of 3.46cm and a bare blade weight of 1028g, giving it a substantial feel despite its shallow sori. It comes with a shirasaya, though the saya-gaki has been partially erased.
