Description

This is an unsigned iron tsuba attributed to the Ko-Shoami school, dating from the late Muromachi period. It features an elegant openwork design of futabiki (two lines) and karigane (wild geese) within a matsukawabishi (pine bark diamond) shape. Although the NBTHK certificate attributes it to Owari, the delicate and dynamic design, along with the fine hammer marks, suggests a Ko-Shoami origin.
