Description

This is a kogatana (small knife) made by Yoshiwara Yoshindo, a Mukansa (non-audited) swordsmith born in Tokyo in 1943. He is known for his work being collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The blade comes with a shirasaya (storage scabbard) that has a sayagaki (scabbard inscription) written by Yoshindo himself.
