This is a tanto made by Miyairi Kozaemon Yukihira in January 2001. Miyairi Kozaemon Yukihira (real name Miyairi Megumi) was born in Sakaki Town as the second son of the late Miyairi Yukihira, a Living National Treasure, in 1957. He received authorization to forge swords from the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 1982 and has won numerous awards, including the Takamatsu Palace Award six times. This tanto comes with a signed paulownia wood box.
