Description

This is a tanto by Chikakitsu of Osafune school in Bizen province, dating to the Sengoku period. It features a waist-opening (koshi-hiraki) midare hamon, typical of Bizen swords of the period. The blade is accompanied by a shirasaya and koshirae.
