He consistently devoted himself to Bizen-den suguba (Aoe) works, and after winning numerous awards, he became a Mukansa swordsmith in Heisei 8 (1996). After exhibiting at the 4th Toubunkyo Shinsaku Nihonto Ten, he passed away in May, Heisei 25 (2013) at the age of 65. The kozuka is a work by Master Yanamura Senju (Yanamura Shigenobu) from Okayama Prefecture, a Mukansa horishi who is said to be the modern pinnacle of toshin horimono.
